Back on the fashion pony again....

Well Hello my fashionista friends....I am alive and well and now a new mother!?

My husband and I welcomed a lil girl into this world in late June, 2012.

After a few months to recover and regroup, I find myself ready to get back on the Fashion Horse again...Slave to fashion? You betcha.

Over the last 10 months since I closed the boutique I have covered a lot of bases and found myself busier than I had been in 10years of retail?!

In November 2011, a dear family friend connected me with a woman based in VA who is a lover of Bikram yoga and felt there was no quality athletic apparel out there for "real women" with curves. She found herself in over sized clothes or athletic apparel from the brands like Lululemon, Athletica, and such that just didn't fit her body right. She hired me to conceptualize, design, research and produce a 9 piece collection for her. www.enayogaapparel.com
I, myself, am a lover of yoga and practice weekly and find the same issues in shopping for athletic gear as well so I was very inspired to work on this design project. I travelled to NYC where I sourced a Nylon Spandex fabric (which wicks moisture), put together several color stories and print options for Ena and together we began to evolve the concept into a reality with styles she was eager to offer in this collection. After 3 rounds of garment fittings on fit model Julia, a dozen or so pattern tweaks, creating 10 page spec sheets (if you know anything about spec sheets, you know this is a huge endeavor!), endless updates to stitching and seam details, we went into production in May 2012 in Fall River, MA with the guidance of my late Production Manager, Mike Dolan. The finished collection is now available for sale at www.Enayogaapparel.com. I went into labor in June, 2 days before our scheduled final photoshoot for the collection to create images for the website and had to miss it but was checking in from my post partum bedside! I was so excited to see our live models in the finished collection!
Ena Yoga Apparel is designed for women of all sizes with curves. Size XS (0-2), S (4-6), M (8-10), L (12-14), XL (16-18) are available for purchase. You will not only be supporting a product I designed, you will be supporting a new female entrepreneur and MADE IN THE USA apparel!

In addition to designing the Yoga line, being pregnant, closing the retail operation, I also have kept myself very busy selling my own Custom Women's designs as well as a Custom Men's line from J Hilburn (www.cibeline.sariano.jhilburn.com). During this time, I found myself ranking in the top 5% of sales within the J Hilburn company. This wasn't hard to do because the product truly speaks for itself. Italian fabrics, hand crafted custom garments made in Hong Kong and Portugal, and we offer custom men's shirts and pants as well as personalized sportcoats/suit blazers/tuxedo jackets. I now dress men from head to toe with J Hilburn's custom as well as the ready to wear collection of sweaters, denim, polo's, belts, ties and socks. Truly a revolutionary company in custom men's apparel. This company is only 5 years old. They started solely by producing the custom shirt and now carry over 125 Italian shirting fabrics, 50 Italian suiting fabrics, and a dozen or so ready to wear items.
I am really enjoying styling men and building my repertoire of experience in the design/styling/wardrobe consulting area of the fashion industry.

Lastly, this past Spring Semester I taught 50 Students at Lasell College in Newton, MA about Apparel Product Development and how to design a 30 piece collection from concept to finished product. I was extremely proud of this incredible group of individuals and the collections/marketing ideas they came up with. Word on the street was that my class was pretty hard, that I expected a lot from them and had high standards. Well, my teaching philosophy; if they want to make it in the "Real World" then this is nothing compared to the  "Devil Wears Prada" boss they are going to end up with. So I figured my class prepped them for the high expectations and endless, sometimes thankless hours of the Fashion Industry.

So there you have it. Although, I have been off the grid a bit, I was busier than ever doing what I love best; designing, styling, and teaching. And of course figuring out how to balance all this while learning how to be a mother.

Happy Holidays and wishing you a warm, prosperous New Year!

Sincerely,
Cibeline
